Each painting was painted directly after the Lahaina and Upcountry Fires occurred. It was my artistic healing reaction to find a way to commemorate Lahaina. I also had a deep desire to donate and still keep my business surviving after all tourism was asked to leave. Lahaina was a special place to me over the 20+ years I have been living in Maui County. It was where I spent many fun days and nights in my 20's and in my 30's was courted by my husband of 14 years. In my 30's and 40's we have frequented Lahaina with our two children with tons of memories and experiences.
